Respecting Rural Roads is the Foundation of Fun

Arkansas Rural Recreational Roads (r3) is partnering with county and local leadership to place signage along many of the routes curated by the R3 team. These signs are reminder to all of us that rural roads are a vital resource for our communities. We are mindful that we all “share the road” — with cars, bikes, pedestrians, horses, and farm equipment. The best experience is a safe experience. Don’t forget to wave!

We Believe

We believe that not every road needs to be paved.

Beautiful outdoor spaces are worth conserving and protecting.

Rural roads are an important part of the American story.

 Our Story

Arkansas Rural Recreational Roads (R3) is a pilot program to designate specific gravel cycling routes on country roads throughout Northwest Arkansas – and eventually the state — to preserve them and maximize their value.
