The White River Gravel Trail
The White River Gravel Trail is a mixed-surface route designed to connect small communities through the rugged rural roads of the Arkansas Ozarks. Following challenging and scenic roads through the mountains of north-central Arkansas, the route links some of our favorite communities along and near the White River while showcasing the landscapes, waterways, and backroads that make this part of the state so special.
This is a remote and challenging route, and riders should plan accordingly. Many of the communities and resupply stops along the trail are very small, with limited services and businesses whose operating hours may change throughout the year. Cell service can also be limited in remote areas.
If your plans include riding late into the evening or overnight, do not depend on stores being open for food or water. Carry enough supplies to safely reach your next confirmed resupply point, and take the distance, terrain, weather, and remoteness of these roads seriously.
The White River Gravel Trail isn't simply about getting from one place to another. It's about experiencing the rural roads, small communities, rivers, mountains, and landscapes that define this part of Arkansas—and discovering what connects them along the way.
